About Us
The simplest meaning of tango salon is social tango.
We are avid social dancers. And, we have a meticulous approach to teaching the mechanics of the art
form - with an emphasis on posture, floorcraft and musicality. In addition to our regular
group classes in tango, we offer workshops in classic themes and special topics - such as Milonga
(a festive
rhythm in the family of Argentine tango), Tango Techniques, Canyengue
(a vintage expression
of Argentine tango), Tango Doble Frente, and Embellishments.
We have been guest teachers in:
Augusta, Columbus, Macon, and
Milledgeville, GA
Nashville and Knoxville, TN
Charlotte, NC
Auburn and Montgomery, AL
New Orleans, LA
Jensen Beach, FL
Newport Beach, CA
Kauai and Big Island, HI
We host a social dance party, also referred to as a milonga, every second Saturday of the month. It is an opportunity
for local and visiting tangueros to come together to share their joy of tango. And, it is an excellent
opportunity for newcomers to socialize and view this beautiful dance - to witness a range of styles that manifest the
individuality afforded by tango.
As performers, we extend our social dancing to fit the setting and event - visually communicating the
intimacy of the partnership and richness of the music - often with larger and more complex movements than
the social dance setting permits.
