an Argentine tango party

Light refreshments provided. Dress casual to fancy. Everyone welcome!
Join us for a festive evening of Argentine tango music and social dancing. Come dance, come watch,
have dessert,
and meet members of Atlanta's Argentine tango community. The studio features a large, suspended, wooden floor and ample seating.
Parking is free. Some evenings, parking lot attendants collect fees for folks going to the nearby comedy club...if they ask, tell them you are going to the Ballroom Centre. Also, the Persion Tea Room next door has a valet service for their customers.
Milonga Workshop
For advanced beginners and up. Command of tango basics is required. We will
begin with milonga basics and add more advanced vocabulary, including double-time movements
and traspié.
No partner needed. Dancers of a similar level will partner together.

contact information, including a phone number. We will confirm your place in the workshop, as the
leader-follower balance unfolds.
Please arrive a few minutes early - to check in, pay fee(cash or check to Lynda Wilson),
change shoes if needed - and be ready to start at 3pm.
Argentine Tango Immersion - Fundamentals Workshop
For those brand new to tango, and for those new-ish tangueros who wish to gain more confidence and
fluidity in their basics. The material presented will prepare newcomers
for the Monday night, 8pm classes, and will provide particpants with enough vocabulary
to enjoy a simple dance at a tango party.
No partner or previous dance experience needed. We start at the beginning....
getting acquainted with the posture, the connection of the partners, the music, basic
tango movements, and travelling
around the dance floor.

~ Shoes: Smooth soles that allow the feet to gently pivot. Women, low to medium heels, and
closed-toes.
~ Ample breaks are programmed into the workshop. Cool water and mints will be provided.
~ Participants will receive a coupon for admission to the Barrio Norte, tango party, held on June 14.
Doble Frente II Workshop
In tango doble frente, the partners face the same direction. It's great fun to mix this alternate
embrace into your tango, vals, and milonga.
Previous experience with doble frente required. For those new to doble frente,
we will be going over the basics, at 9pm, on the two Mondays preceding the workshop.
